Across The Universe has me hooked

When I tried to watch Across The Universe for the first time, I ended up stopping the movie at the "strawberry fields" scene (which I will tell you what I think later). The movie absolutely appalled me during my first viewing session.

I don't know why it appalled me, but I just couldn't stand to watch it at first. The whole "high" scene with Mr. K was enough to influence me to "turn this crap off" as I would say. So, I don't think it was the "strawberry fields" scene that made me turn it off.

It turns out, I tried watching the movie again for a second time. I continued through the "strawberry fields" scene and actually finished the movie. I was proud of myself. I had accomplished what I thought I never could.

I thought I would never endure such a abstract movie, but I did. Not only did I endure it, but seeing the movie in its entirety made me realize, what a great movie!

Across The Universe is now one of my favorite movies. I don't know how and I don't know why, but I absolutely love it. I love everything about it (I actually catch myself watching the movie with addiction). I watch scenes over and over just for the hell of it.

This is a really ballsy move, in my honest opinion (or IMHO for you acronym freaks). How is a guy supposed to keep his dignity when he proclaims he loves a movie of this nature? For those of you who have no idea what this movie is about, let's just say it's a chick flick.

Chick flick or not, I love Across The Universe. I encourage all of you to give it a chance. You'll appreciate it even more if you watch it with integrity. Watch it without a care in the world.

You'll enjoy it. I know you will, because I did. And if anyone else has had this same realization, let me know. I want to hear about how this movie took awhile to grow on you.
